Most of the assignments include the development of a project, either a piece of furniture, a machine or a prototype.
The assignments are developed at an hosting node or individually.
The living academy focuses on the practice, each assignment allows the student to challenge himself / herself into a real word project. Ideally students can sell their assignments and cover entierly the tution fees, and use them to build a portfolio useful for their career.
Documentation
One of the core principles of the course is sharing. The knowledge created by students and faculty can be shared by constantly documenting the work. Students are required to publish an extensive documentation for their projects, processes, and trials.
Reviews
Every assignment is reviewed by the course faculty, providing feedback to the students on a weekly schedule. Additional reviews are dedicated to the final project and to support those student who might had trouble with specific modules during the course.
Other activities
The Living Academy is part of a global network of Fab Labs, professionals and institutions. Student projects will be exhibited and replicated in different events all over the world.
